McArthur, the Managing Director of McARTHUR + COMPANY is an internationally experienced career shopping centre specialist with over 30 years in the industry with over 40 successful shopping centre projects in his portfolio.
After a successful early career with several leading Canadian developers, Phil’s projects have taken him to new exciting global markets such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi in the UAE, Muscat, Oman, Cairo, Egypt, Beirut, Lebanon, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and New Delhi, India.
2011 marked the launch of McARTHUR + COMPANY with the opening of our offices in Dubai, and another in Toronto, Canada.
Our strategy is to add real financial value to each retail development project. Our team is well experienced in shopping centre investment, finance, development planning, retail leasing and management and marketing.
We understand retail and shopping centres and what it takes to create new centres or rescue older centres that require new energy. We work closely with global retail chains to assist with cross border expansion needs.

Ritu Chopra moderated the “Retail Runway”, where international retail concepts presented their brands. Phil McArthur along with Derek Barker of Haskoll Architects and Designers delivered a presentation highlighting the growth of competition to capture consumer spending, entitled “Tomorrow’s Shopping Centres, Today”, and Furqan Athar gave an enlightening speech, “Retail 101: How Retail Works,” about the essential components of retailing.
